m&m

Their friendship started straight from birth,
carried into church side by side, they knew not of what it was worth.
Carefree childhoods, filled with work and play,
and at the end of every week they talked, giggled and listened on Sunday.

Through the years, from five to twenty,
the memories they made were sweet and plenty.
They found themselves two good men, a house and a home
and then came the children, leaving them little time of their own.
Their hands washed dishes, graced kitchen counters.
Their minds nurtured hearts and things that mattered.
Times together were precious and few
but they selflessly accepted their season of life like few women do.

As time handed them both joy and pain,
the saw in their deep rooted friendship something to gain.
The roots of their friendship that had started at birth
had grown deep and true, exposing to them the uniqueness of it's worth.
Meet my grandma, Marian and her best friend, Marian (or as Marian's husband affectionately titles them "m&m"). They were here last night for dinner and I celebrate the friendship that has held fast for 70+ years, even though they're only '59'. Funny how that happens. {smile}.

Truly two of the most beautiful ladies. Lifetime friends are the best. This is so special to honor these two.
