South by South West

 Guess what?

I was given a RARE spur-of-the-moment opportunity to take a reprieve from the repetitive, courtesy of Southwest Airline's cheap fares and a quite attentive and generous husband who positively insisted I flee.

I suspect he saw signs of near insanity *wink* and sent me leaving on a jet plane, but unlike Linda Ronstadt, I know when I'll be back again. Tomorrow! Refreshed, revived (It's true, I AM more than a workhorse after all! I had nearly forgot..) and ready to slip back into my role as 'mama of many'.

First of all, may I just say my 'little sister' has a natural knack for motherhood.
She is far more conciencious than I ever was (I did not have one bottle of Anti-Bacterial lotion laying around--oops!), and I completely admire her delicate handling and careful attention to her little bundle of joy. Speaking of bundle of JOY....

When I picked her up for the first time, I marveled at her extraordinary lightness. My sister reminded me that the twins were far smaller than she when I brought them home LESS than one year ago. How fleeting the newborn stage is....and how quickly one can forget!

We ventured out yesterday...just us gals.
Grapevine, Texas is chock full of vintage, Western wonderfulness.
The huge luxury for me was the ability to roam, not rush....meander, not mad-dash...through the little boutiques whose whimsical charm beckoned us in.

Eye Candy in Every Nook and Cranny

Royal cuteness.
I so wanted to purchase this for my sweet niece.
I picked it up.
Found the price tag.
Laid it down,
Took a picture.
And told her I loved her.
{and that someday in Heaven, when her auntie is crafty,
she'll make her one for far less.}

Did you know that coffee can stay hot if you drink it without interruption?
Amazing.

I would like to take a little tiny bit of credit for successfully introducing her to her  pacifier. There are those who may think less of them (my husband), but they have enabled sanity to prevail on many occasions in my recent history. I hope the same for my sister.
A sliver of sun, and Buster ('big brother') is doggone happy.

I am not sure if it is made clear enough in this picture, but my brother in law (of whom I am quite fond) is a Brave's fan and already his little gal has three onsies to start her on the path to a Brave's indoctrination.

I wish I would not have been 'covering' my sweet niece's face, (was helping to keep the nuk in place), but otherwise I like this sun-drenched picture of me and one of my most treasured friends. The missing color is the one my youngest sister would have been wearing...she is off on her own romantic adventure in the mid-west. We missed you Kimberly!!!!

My generous brother in law allowed me to use his laptop (hence the post), affording me the luxury of blogging without threat of interruption. Sweet.

While I am  completely able to enjoy my two-ish days away from home, I am eager to wrap my arms around my man and then the children who are, by their very existence, a part of me. It will be good to rejoin my body here with my heart at home.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Baby.
Sweet Name.
Sweet Sisters.
Sweet Husband.
Just love this post and those involved in it! Brings back many special memories, especially of Buster:) The little Braves fan and her dad made me smile as I remember the outbursts that resulted from him watching their games, and I sit here watching the Phillies. Beautiful picture of you two sisters. Loved having your little girls today.

I'm so glad you've had your days of relaxing and much earned pampering. No one wants a COMPLETE life of these things {how boring!} but enjoying them for a bit with some of your favorite people cannot be matched. Of course, I'm a HUGE fan of your eye candy goodness...sigh...
Soak in the last hours, then enjoy those babes waiting for you at home!
