God Always Provides

Several years ago, in a car that is no longer mine,
there was a handwritten note taped to the dashboard.
It read:

God ALWAYS provides.

That was pasted there probably during one of the many months
where even my overactive imagination could not conjure a scenario in which
there would be enough money to pay the bills that were piled on the kitchen table.

The note stayed there because
there were always other reasons to reflect on it's promise
and never a time when I wanted to forget the ways and means it
had been made personal to us in it's fulfillment.

 God always provides.
Take, for example, last weekend:

We had forty-eight hours.
Forty-eight glorious hours to remember
the beginnings of this crazy, wonderful circus we formed
under God's plan and smashing sense-of-humor.
(A HUGE thank you to my parents for taking the fabulous five!)

On  Friday, I told him all I wanted was for him to take me to Tiffanys
The Lucky Dog Thrift shop (may I just insert here that I have become so low-maintenance??). In this old building, I found a wealth of what some might call "junk" but I call forgotten, vintage treasures that need a new home.

Amongst old Avon perfume bottles and faded hankies, was
this treasure that I had been wanting for some time.
It was just like my grandma and grandpa's, it was six dollars and it was, at the moment of discovery, sold. I brought it home, plugged it in and the richest quality of sound came out of it that I thought perhaps I had purchased an original Bose.

That evening we poured ourselves a glass of wine and listened to the radio,
playing old country songs that took me right back to my grandparent's kitchen table.
It was a time of sweet reflection. God always provides.

We had planned to go back to our honeymoon destination every four years, as
we were married on Leap Year. It did not work out this year, for a myriad of reasons.
After working through a few disappointment/entitlement issues, I got over it.
In the meantime, we were given an anonymous gift certificate in the mail for an overnight stay at a local Bed and Breakfast. The place was lovely, we felt pampered and saw again that God always provides, some times on His own and often times through His children, the ones whose hearts are sensitive enough to feel the nudge and act on it.
Thank you, God, for these people in our lives. They pour your Love into ours.

It is my hope and prayer that we continue to stand in humility at His Provision, and never hesitate to remember it during times of darkness (but we will because we are, after all, only human). We are not just a 'married couple', but we are two people partnering on an adventure in an unseen, but very real Kingdom that is now, that is active and that has great purpose. Sometimes life gets hard, and sometimes life gets busy in the mundane so that it's hard to remember this life is something bigger than keeping bodies fed and clean. And in all the grit, gut and glory of our adventuring together, we have seen that

God always provides.

I can not take for granted the eight years of living life with the best man I know.
He is the BEST "leap of faith" I have ever taken, never regretting signing up for this wild ride with the man who keeps me level, loved and living large.

Happy happy annIversary!
Thanks for this post and good reminder God ALWAYS provides; just what and when we need it! Hugs on this March morning...btw have fun tonight! Wish I were a fly on the wall tonight but instead I'll be off on an overnight with the "love of my life" celebrating our 35th! No; not returning to the place of our honeymoon; either. But like you...can't wait; cause "God Always Provides". And I'm so thankful to have this good man by my side for the past 35!!!

Love;
Jul
