O Tannenbaum!

Saturday afternoon found us -ALL of us-trecking up a mountainside, looking for that "perfect" Christmas Tree to grace our home. Pine Ridge, our favorite place to buy trees, reopened this year and off we went!

The girls are being treated well, carried by their brother and daddy.... (No one voluteered to carry me!!)
Curt wanted a picture of the children and I for his desk at the office. Why I thought we could make it happen on the hillside that day is beyond me. And here is our annual "Felling the Christmas Tree" family portrait...taken by a nice stranger who had a hard 'subject' to work with! :)
My little precious in her new winter hat. She just cracks me up.

Now here is where things got dicey.

I made these two sit on the ground (in order to keep them contained), whilst their brother and father felled our tree. Annie had a slight meltdown at this command, and I'm sure one could hear her high pitched wail wafting down the mountside for miles. Simultaneously, Christopher broke out in hysterical laughter, somehow finding the sawing motion quite funny.

Curt, Rick and I joined in on his laughter, as it was just a perfect way to sum up life right now.

Here they are from the back. ...and the view from the front tells the real story.
Our strong and sturdy boys carrying the tree down the mountain!

And here are a few of the decorating process...

I have GOT to go. This was not a good time for posting . There is a LOT of real life going on right now (fighting over a stolen cracker, baby crying, etc. etc.) . I can barely type. Love to all....

I love the picture of the two toddlers...from the back(because you find yourself looking at that picture thinking, how sweet), and the one from the front where you realize quite quickly that your thought process was totally wrong. You will always treasure the memories that go with those pictures.

This is priceless...and you are making great memories, even if they are not the ones you thought you would make. Have you seen Christmas Vacation (Chevy Chase movie) with similar scene with teens? It's a classic in Vittoland. It was great to see you and your gang at Salem last night. Have a wonderful Christmas!
