I deeply honor what you have written here. As one who feels more belonging in the fire circle on the left, it has become important to me not to allow myself to be fully consumed by those flames, nor to keep my head in the smoke that blinds out the humanity of other fire dwellers. I confess that I have done that. It has also been necessary for me step away from the fire altogether, to go on a walk under the stars, and rediscover my place in this vast history of humanity. Thank you for tending the fire you are called to tend and inviting those of us, who at times get caught up by the flame of our larger fires, to meet in the middle and break bread. 🙏Annettehttp://www.annettegarber.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7205044459178909295.post-32179929457640990062020-05-09T08:22:54.401-04:002020-05-09T08:22:54.401-04:00“when they use their beautiful, broken hearts to l...“when they use their beautiful, broken hearts to love on the people in their path (including their own selves, the little girl to the one they are now, the one who God delights in), they all share the same address.”
Thank you for sharing your gift of words with us. We needed so badly too! And these words are needed too, for me and I'm sure so many other moms in the 'middles' of this Trek on earth. The hubby's seriously midlife crisising it right now... just so so so tres depressed at work, my life is, I don't know, I live in constant state of overwhelm....all the noise, noise, noise, noise!! Ironic how you love a man so much you make a zillion babies and then puff you don't have any time for him or anyting else for that matter except pulling out chin hairs because, well, priorities! My chin hairs and neck hairs made their debut a few years ago and since I was not on the lookout one got to be a full half inch long before discovery yikes, I hope no one noticed!! after #5 was born. Oh the glamour. Somehow in the misery there's moments of laughter, and somehow in the laughter the heart still aches. All I know is it is true speaking the real true stuff of life somehow brings a little refreshment to the soul. I don't have any answers for the chin hairs or the lovely momma sqeeziness around the middle, goodness knows I don't know how to get rid of that. While we don't live close by anymore, I am grateful for you and the beautiful women God has placed right around us in this season of life. You have so much to offer, and even when the daily mess/stress/fatigue/grouchiness/you-name-it is overpowering, the overarching light of true life that your family stands for is making such an impact in your community. xoxoCharis O'Connellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08361748150611922058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7205044459178909295.post-29477557617985660522020-01-10T10:25:59.518-05:002020-01-10T10:25:59.518-05:00Oh sweet Jeane' you are a gift and a favorite!...Oh sweet Jeane' you are a gift and a favorite!! Thank you for making my day and helping me to feel a little more normal. I have to give a quick story about a chin hair. A friend and I were walking the other day and she was deep in her story and I was swatting something off my face, thinking I walked through a cob web or something but after I "caught" the offender and pulled at it I realized it was attached! I am now vigilant at checking yet another area that has taken on a new life:)
Helenanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7205044459178909295.post-7512874284970549122020-01-10T09:37:35.697-05:002020-01-10T09:37:35.697-05:00Thanks Jeane! I’d love to add one I’m recently experiencing: I’m helping to coach my daughter’s middle school basketball team. As I was scrimmaging with the girls, my brain kept screaming at my 40-year-old body to do things that my 18-year-old body used to be able to do. To all the screaming of my brain, my body simply shrugged and said, “nope. And then it laughed (and peed a little) at me. I was sore for a week after that scrimmage. But we press on! Thanks, Jeane - always a relief to hear others muddling through the same things.
